On Friday, the Pushpa star was arrested from his residence and remanded to 14 days of judicial custody.

The Telangana High Court granted Allu Arjun interim bail, but procedural delays postponed his release from prison. Although the bail documents arrived late Friday night, the actor’s legal team submitted a surety bond of ₹50,000 to the jail authorities to secure his release.

The case against the Pushpa star stems from a tragic stampede at Hyderabad’s Sandhya Theater on December 4, during the premiere of his latest film, Pushpa 2: The Rule. The incident claimed the life of a woman named Ravethi and left her son critically injured. Police registered a case against the actor under Sections 105 (culpable homicide not amounting to murder) and 118(1) (voluntarily causing hurt) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) at the Chikkadpally police station, leading to his arrest and remand to Chanchalguda Central Jail. The High Court granted him a four-week interim bail, but jail authorities cited nighttime restrictions and the late arrival of the bail order as reasons for the delay in his release. Consequently, Allu Arjun will remain in custody overnight and is expected to be released on Saturday morning.”
